Silicon Carbide, sometimes called "Abrasive Nylon",  is best described as an extruded nylon filament that has stones mixed in with it. These stones are impregnated into different diameters of nylon that are predetermined to be able to hold the stones in place. The diameter of the stone then becomes the label for determining the grit that it is identified with, much like emery paper.

Silicon Carbide impregnated bristle brushes offer several advantages when compared to the compressed wheel style units or even the pumice brushes. Silicon Carbide brushes prevent loading and are self-cleaning. They wear more evenly than a compressed pad and therefore require less adjustment and maintenance.

Our brushes offer final cleaning and scrubbing finishes of 15-20 RMS on Copper and 20-25 RMS on solder. we offer many grit sizes geared to specific applications. (500-320-240-180-120-80-60-46)

Industrial Brush manufactures the most complete line of Silicon Carbide brushes. Our brush diameters range from 2"  to 16" diameter, and lengths from 2" to 195" long. Each core is given special attention to ensure true running and balance to meet the application requirements.
